Meijers Canatan Lawyers
Criminal Lawyers
Meijers Canatan Lawyers is a Dutch law firm specialising in criminal matters. Based in Amsterdam, our lawyers assist suspects and accused all over the Netherlands at all stages of criminal proceedings, be it prior to police questioning or in Court.
We're a full-service criminal law practice. That means that we conduct legal proceedings in all district courts, courts of appeal, the Supreme Court of the Netherlands and the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) and that we assist with all kinds of procedures relating to the criminal proceedings. We specialize in the following legal areas: (General) Criminal Law, Appeal, International Criminal Law, Extradition and Surrender (European Arrest Warrant), Confiscation and Juvenile Criminal Law.
Quality
Our firm is renowned for its expertise in criminal cases. Gabriel Meijers has been chosen several times as one of the ten best criminal lawyers in the Netherlands and together with Kerem Canatan he has been conducting criminal cases at the Supreme Court of the Netherlands (the highest court in the Netherlands). Our lawyers deal with hundreds of criminal cases each year, regularly including media-sensitive ones. In bigger cases we can operate as a team should the need arise.
Our firm is a member of the National Bar Council (Dutch Bar Association), the Dutch Association of Defence Counsel (Dutch Association of Defence Counsel) and the European Criminal Bar Association.
Assistance in English
Our lawyers speak several languages. If we do not speak your language we will call in an interpreter. We only make use of the services of experienced and qualified sworn interpreters. You may e-mail us in English, German, Spanish, French or Hebrew.
Fees
We charge an hourly rate which depends on the level of experience and expertise of the lawyer in question. Prior to starting our work we request an advance payment, however, some cases we may do partly or entirely free of charge. Please contact us without any obligation for fees and options.
