Mr. T.W.A. (Tom) Coulier received his master's degree in criminal law from the University of Amsterdam.

During his studies, he completed internships at various criminal law firms in Amsterdam, where he gained firsthand experience with a wide range of criminal cases at an early stage. He has been with Meijers Canatan Advocaten since 2022, first as a legal assistant and, since 2024, as an attorney. Since being admitted to the bar, Mr. Coulier has been fully engaged in the (general) criminal law practice. He represents clients in a wide range of criminal cases, including violent crimes (from simple assault to capital offenses), money laundering cases, and cases involving criminal organizations.

In addition, he has a particular affinity for criminal cases in the aviation sector. Driven by a personal fascination with aviation, he combines his legal expertise with an understanding of the dynamics within the industry. For example, he has experience representing both airlines and aviation employees in criminal matters. At this intersection of criminal law and aviation, Mr. Coulier distinguishes himself as an aviation attorney: a lawyer who speaks the language of both worlds and can assist clients where legal and operational realities intersect.

In 2026, Mr. Coulier won the NVJSA’s national Criminal Law Game, a prestigious moot court competition for young criminal defense attorneys. As a result, he was named the best young criminal defense attorney in the Netherlands for 2026.
