Digital Procedure Documents Act Criminal Procedure (Bulletin of Acts and Decrees 2016, 90)

On 1 December 2016, the Digital Procedure Documents (Criminal Procedure) Act (Bulletin of Acts and Decrees 2016, 90) entered into force.
This new law makes it possible to facilitate and channel the use of digital process documents. It contains three regulations for this purpose:
- an arrangement for the integrity of procedural documents in electronic form;
- an arrangement for the electronic signing of procedural documents;
- a system of electronic declaration, filing of applications, writing, complaints, appeals and access to procedural documents.

On 25 April 2016, the Act of 8 April 2016 to revise the penalisation of bankruptcy fraud was published in the Bulletin of Acts, Orders and Decrees (Stbl. 2016, 154). The new Act aims to improve the legal possibilities of taking criminal action against bankruptcy fraud. Read more...

On 6 April 2016, the Act of 29 March 2016 amending, among other things, the Criminal Code in connection with the criminalisation of acquisition fraud was published in the Bulletin of Acts and Decrees (Staatsblad 2016,133).

When someone's dna is on the handle of a murder weapon, the step to a conviction is quickly made. Dna traces at the crime scene are also sometimes conclusive evidence. The Act of 25 November 2015 on long-term supervision, influencing behaviour and restricting freedom was recently published in the Bulletin of Acts and Decrees (Bulletin of Acts and Decrees 2015, 460). The aim is for the Act to enter into force on 1 July 2016. This Act introduces, among other things, the behavioural influencing and freedom restricting measure.
